Portland Chapter of the ADA

Grant Watts School Kids Walk to Cure Diabetes, an event of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation was last month. Students, parents, and families were amazing in their fundraising! The school will receive approx. $460. In 2006 and again in 2008 Grant Watts families raised $4000, donating over $8000 now to diabetes research! I am very pleased to say that this year we surpassed our goal by bringing in approx $4600! Every dollar gets us closer to better treatment and eventually a cure.

With the Hope Gala coming up April 4th, I encourage you to think about volunteering your time. It takes a lot of volunteers to make the night run smoothly. People of all abilities are needed so don’t feel if you have no experience you can’t help. If you are interested please contact the JDRF and let them know. This summer think about having a garage sale and donating a portion to your charity of choice. We will be having a Garage Sale this year in May again. Don’t want to have your own sale? You can donate items for our sale. We will accept most clean and unbroken merchandise.

If you are in the Scappoose area on Saturday April 18th think about coming and meeting some of those fabulous Grant Watts families at the 13th Annual Spring Auction and Fundraiser. JDRF April 4th Hope Gala
