Rock Against Diabetes, NW
2007 has come and gone. In 2006 we raised $1400. This year we had a Saturday for the first time and were able to add 3 hours of music. We are pleased to announce that we raised $2,420 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Gales Creek Camp for kids with diabetes. Every year we have raised more money and we hope and plan to continue to grow.
We want to thank everyone involved for their time and contribution to the event. There are several people to want to say special a thank you to for those contributions.
Josh Orchard broadcasted the event live via webcast. George Turner did the live sound engineering and as well as the engineering for the live multi track recording; “The Engineering God who made it all
happen!” says Tom. These guys went above and beyond spending more than 12 hours making sure things ran smoothly! Thanks again guys, your awesome!
Thank you to all the bands: TheIlluminucci, Weight of Atlas, The Mystic Canyon Band, Joshua James, Scotland Barr & the Slow Drags, Fuzzball, Still Pending, Amanda Richards, Dead Beetles, My Fellow
Traveller, The Lonesomes, Sketchy Ted, and Mission 5. Another big thank you to their fans, friends, and family members who came out to support them and a great cause.
Thanks to Bo Camero and his brother Derek who video taped the event. Thank you to those band members, family, and friends who picked up the video cameras and helped out. A few of which are: Karl Gaylin, John
Huck, Ben Heilbrun, and Gena Carter. It was a whirlwind so if you are not mentioned by name, we apologize.
Thank you to everyone who attended whether you were passing by, read or heard about us somewhere, came to see a favorite band, had a friend or family member involved, or for any other reason! We all love to
have an audience!
Thank you Cheryl from GalesCreek and Lara from the JDRF for your time and enthusiasm working the door and getting those donations, and always with a smile! You inspire us to come back every year.
On a personal note I want to thank those people who came and talked to me about their diabetes stories. I always enjoy talking with other people about their experiences…the more we know the better we can care
for ourselves and the ones we love. Thank you again, Jennifer.
We are very pleased with the increase of money we raised and hope to continue to grow both in size and in revenue in the years to come. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve the event they would be
greatly appreciated. If you would like to volunteer for next year in some capacity that would also be great (I know it is kind of early for that!). We would like to have a committee of people for next year including
sound techs, an emcee, press agents, music/band coordinators, merchandise crew, kids table, etc. Tom and I love doing this but in order for it to grow we believe we need a bigger organized crew. We have learned a
lot and hope to find some people who are as passionate about this as we are!
Thank you again to everyone who donated in some way and those that attended the 4th Annual Rock Against Diabetes, NW benefit concert!
